Where to buy windows 8.1 x64 DVD OEM ? just the CDKEY ??????

Looking for a place to buy it but only the CDKEY
is there any digital distributions of this instead of waiting for the media through the postal system lol

also when i have it where the hell do i get Windows media center from ?????

thats the USA version ? and 8.1 only not pro ? wont the USA version mess up the EULA ? for a uk user with issues with keys with microsoft if i do have issues in the future that is.

Just install 8.1 with generic key floating around, then in activation window, choose Buy a product Key

might have to resort to that or the above £123 price though im wondering if there is any students that browse this forum that could do a guy a favor, im not asking for anything from them, just need a student so they can use there ID to pass verification so i can purchase for £43

Just so you know, if you install 8.1 with any key, there is no 30 day grace period like there is in 7 etc, you can use it continuously, you just get a small watermark / nag screen and no Metro side customisation ability, other than that, it works fine

sure, you have to wait for the physical copy to arrive, but once you have it, you can install w8 and then get 8.1 as a free upgrade. it's a pretty decent bargain as well. Also, it is an upgrade version of w8, but it never asked me for the w7 key.

You sure you where not asked for a windows 7 key ?
is it possible that you can use a upgrade key from a fresh install if you auto install your key into your windows 8.1 iso ???? as its a lot of faffing about
having to install win 7 then upgrade to 8 then upgrade to 8.1 pro from within 8.0 lol

arghhh might just pay the £106 from OCUK for the full version download.....
though they only supply the x32 or x64 and not both together.

where are all the students when you need them lol

Yep, didn't need my w7 key at all. You can always order w8 from Amazon. While you're waiting for it to come in the post, download a w8.1 iso and install it using a generic w8.1 key. You won't be able to activate with that key, but as soon as you get your w8 copy through the post, you can change your w8.1 product key to the one that came with w8 and then activate.

You can always buy the Win 8.1 x64 OEI DVD from shops like Scan, eBuyer etc etc for ~£73

Edit:

Good call from Eclap though about buying the Win 8 upgrade though.

I've got a friend who wants Win 8 and doesn't own a legit OS to do the upgrade, so I recommend him buy the above I mentioned.

I didn't know you could just buy the upgrade disk and clean install without having to have another product key from a previous OS.

Did you have to do the reg tweak + slmgr /rearm to be able to activate ?

Also I wonder if you can clean install Win 8.1 and activate using the win 8 upgrade key (assume you'd need to do the reg tweak still first) ?

haven't done this yet, but I have been told that you can install w8.1 from DVD iso/usb, you'll have to use a generic w8.1 key at the start of installation process because w8 key won't work for that. I tried this, ran w8.1 installation from my usb stick and it wouldn't take my w8 key, but the generic key worked. I didn't go ahead with the install though.

But, you can install with that generic key, then all you have to do is change the product key in w8.1 to legit w8 key and you can then activate. No reg tweaks required, there's a few methods as to how to change the key, a couple via command prompt and then another via product activation, simply change the key.

You'll need to do a trick with the activation though if you're clean installing on a new HDD (bought an SSD about 6 months back), it's not considered illegal if you have a legal copy, it's just MS that has its DRM a little to tight.

got it off google shopping, £41 for full 8.1 pro key plus I was sent a Microsoft web link to download the thing and put it on a dvd.
I then zeroed main ssd and installed the sucker.
job done. waiting on next NVidia quadro driver now for nice crispness again.
better than the preview though.
